• Page 1 (Original Post) • Bobbie28 from Neverland, USA - What do you guys think about starting an eBay store? I am trying to set up different sources to make extra money. Eventually, I would like to set up my own store front. Are there any people on here who took the eBay route? Comment #1 Cady from Omaha - No, I haven't started an ebay store but there is one that recently opened up near us. I am curious to see what they have for sale! Comment #2 goldie from las vegas, nevada - Are you talking about starting a home based or an actual brick and mortar building? Most of the ebay businesses that set up in a store front here doesn't sell anything to people who walk in. Rather they are like a middle man. People come in with items they want to sell on ebay. The store sets up the listings and handles the transactions. They get a percentage of what the item sells for. Comment #3 jadarose from down south - Have you already developed a decent rating at ebay? Any repeat buyers or increase in business? The reason I ask is because before I would jump into opening a full store I will consider if I would have enough clientele for it. I do think it is a great idea especially if you are seeing your business grow. Comment #4 Bobbie28 from Neverland, USA - I am talking about an eBay business in general. It can be an eBay consignment store or an online store. Oh I know about the ups and downs of eBay. I sell and make extra money on eBay but I have other businesses so that's not my main income. I don't put all of my eggs in one basket. Comment #5 Flowergirl from FlowerHeaven, USA - I have an online store and I sell on eBay. I use eBay to sell items in a faster manner. Comment #6 Solitude from Georgia/Florida - I have a friend that took the Ebay route and making enough money to live on. It wasn't an easy task and she sell in more than one category. Comment #7 Will28 from YesVille, USA - I like to sell things I have around the house or sell things for other people. I think when I have more time I will try Ebay as another source of income. Comment #8 Brenda (131.94.202.85) - Any advice on how to go about starting a store that sells items on ebay Comment #9 Serviced Offices (83.104.43.208) - I also have a friend who started up an ebay store and is living off the profits from it alone. i am planning on setting one up when i have more free time on my hands. A really good idea. Comment #10 Stormy (71.236.219.254) - Do you have any idea of what kind of goods you want to sell on ebay? Ebay is a great big marketplace. It's easy to make a lot of money but its also easy to get really overwhelmed. The more products you have, the more emails you have to answer and orders you have to follow up on.
