| Yahoo! Answers: I want to open my own new age shop, how can i do this? Ok basically im 20, and i dont want to be stuck in a dead end office job for the rest of my life, my dream is to open up my own new age shop, sell books on self help meditation witchcraf and sell crystals and candles and antiques and so, how can i achieve this, i know it cant be done overnight, but i need some guidance :) |
| Why don't you start part time by setting up a new age stall at a market. This way you can see what the demand for the products is like, and figure out if you enjoy doing the selling. Once you have customers and are getting busy, maybe later you could open a shop when you have the finance. |
| Wow that is a very good idea. Well actually that is usually the beneficial options of some people who want to engage in a business. I think when you start a new age shop, it will surely be a bug hit since many people are interested in buying antiques most especially the ones they need in the office. When I purchase something unique for my office, I usually buy small stuff for decorations. |
| I agree with the part time option at the flea markets but even before that you might want to investigate how much money can be made with opening your own store. This would require looking at competitors selling similar things and if they are publicly traded companies then get a copy of their financial statements. You'll want to look at three things to make an estimate of earning; one is the balance sheet, two is the cash flow sheet and three is where that company is heading in terms of future growth (new products and potential changes of direction). Looks daunting but if you do your research right in the beginning then the rest should be smootherthen if you hadn't done the research at all. |
| It is nice to hear that there are many entrepreneurs that are willing to take risks in involving themselves in other field. I love antiques, it reminds me that there are some things that are worth keeping. I am currently collecting old wrist watch and you will be surprise on how much bucks I spent just to have them. I hope I can be in certain areas where these items are numerous. |
| I love antiques, it reminds me that things are kept and preserve by many people . I hope I can be in some places where I can see antique mirrors. My mom loves to collect that things. I would like to know more of the places where I could actually purchase many antique but gorgeous mirrors that I would soon bring with me when I go home and wrapped for my mom. |
