| Low Cost Security Camera Suggestions I run a small computer tech company and I am growing concerned about theft as my inventory grows. I only have a three room shop and don't want to spend big bucks. Any suggestions on a low cost security camera solution. I need recording capability too, I can live with black and white but color would be nice.Thanks |
| I would recommend you check out various cameras (and recorders) in person so you can get an idea of the quality of the picture. Also make sure the lighting conditions are the same. Low light levels or back lighting will negatively impact the image quality. A cheap system that produces images that are unintelligble is kinda pointless (you might as well get a dummy camera to scare your staff). |
| You probably should not have to spend big money. Security cameras have become more realistic in cost over the past few years. You don't anything too intricate or fancy so you may want to look into doing installation yourself. If you contact a security company to do it for you, you will pay double or even triple the cost. |

I think a bullet camera would work best because they are smaller and lightweight and easy to install. You can do it yourself. They are a lot cheaper too compared to other types of security cameras.
